mine is not root. what i do is download the apk and obb. install the new apk (don't uninstall the old one), replace the old obb file with the updated one. my progress is still there when I open the game.

at the beginning of the game during tutorial, certain stage you cant one hit the enemy because if you do, you will stuck because you basicly skipping a step, the bypass is to make the game in normal mode, hence the instruction at the first page
