Ok guys, this problem will happen if you use a virtual machine to play the game. However, there is a way to "bypass" this 'update' screen, so this is how I did it:
- Installed original game on my device, went through all the champions to download their assets.
- Then, using MT Manager, I went to the game files and found all the assets there.
- Opened VMOS, installed the Modded game.
- After that I transfered the game files with the champions assets to VMOS.
- Installed MT Manager on VMOS (you can use another file manager of your choice).
- Copied the files to the modded game folder.
- Path to paste files: Root Directory -> data -> data -> com.kabam.marvelbattle.

I got the link to work & working even better than ever , go inside all the places where you device are placing the download s you have made so far & then delete all the links you have downloaded before, we are downloading a new link from here for the game every month, & you have to delete all those all downloads,. I did that last night while trying to fix this update problem & that's how I did. I found all the old downloads & deleted them & know game running like never & when update shows up, then it's disappearing right away. Good luck
