*** POSSIBLE SPOILERS ***
Hey guys. Long time ldoe mod user here. I have some fixes for mod bugs with this game. Due to license validation and the server verifying certain quantities and the mechanics of this particular game, there are different "tricks" to get the mod to work.
1.) Avoid black screen by completely closing out of the app. Aka kill app and any used memory by using a good app/ process killer. Don't have one? Do a restart or power off and back on your device.
2.) The game like most wants to do an update or download additional content not included in the downloaded APK or mod file. This is common among a lot of games. This game doesn't have a good way of showing this, It pauses or lags when the only progress bar gets to 99%.
I have waited the 5 or so minutes it takes and had the game finally pop on screen.
3.) DO NOT log in to play services to save your progress. It may trigger a ban by doing a signature verification in the app and you could get a server ban. Using modded versions of the software violates the rules. You may also lose everything and have to start from scratch everytime the is an update of the mod. Totally sucks but, with mod menu you can get back max character level and a year +'s worth of stuff in mere days.
4.) It takes some time between the official app updating and the mod to get updated. The mod may not work at this time. If it does it may check the store and point to the official app to download the official update instead of the mod update. There is nothing we can due but be patient and wait for the updated mod.
4.) Using instant walk is awesome but it breaks the game and stops events that are supposed to only spawn when your energy falls below 50 or 30 points out of a now 200 points of energy. Open mod menu while on map screen, turn off all mods, and travel somewhere by "running" and burning up energy. You can go back and forth between different map locations untill your energy is below 30. Then open mod menu and turn all options back on. The commute triggered events like Air Drop will be triggered.
Some events like Airplane wreck only happen twice. Other events are daily or are parts of different seasons. When traveling to certain map areas, there are maps that are different on your first visit only, aka ui / npc characters with special drops, airplane wreck may be one of only 2 ways to get the Glock mod of Leg Shot, first time going to Army Convoy offers a chance to get an op gun.
Other maps have % chances of being different. The barn at the the farm only has a 25% of opening. I've had to go 5 times once before it opened and then it didn't have the motorcycle part I wanted but, the very next time I went the barn opened again and it did. So there can still be some waiting and grinding, even with the mod.
5.) Due to license verification issues between the mod and official updates, purchases of of in game items like currencies, gold coins, or weapon or supply chests may not work. Attempt to figure out what enemies or areas may offer the items you are after and go to those locations untill you get what you are after. The loot that drops in chests or enemies is not static, it is dynamic and rarer items may not appear in every opening. Keep grinding for those op weapons or motorcycle parts or ATV parts.
6.) Not all weapon mods are in the game, YET. They do add one of the few missing ones every year or so. They honestly add new weapons faster.
I swear some of the best weapon mods, the "Active Mods" seem to only be able to be found at locations and as I said, some of those only appear once or very seldomly. Examples would be the farm is more likely to give melee weapons or melee weapon mods and may be the only way to get the active skill mod for the saw blade mace. Airplane wreck, only available twice in the first few days of a new game may be the only way to get a Glock with the active skill mod. Save/ Split a copy of the rarer modded weapons to add the other more easily obtained mods to later. This maybe the best way to get the best weapon mods on certain weapons.
7.) I've played several versions of these mods for several of the survival crafting games. Split Item/ Split Item +20 can break containers, or drain durability of items. Depending on the specific game mechanics, or mod and these game mechanics, mod mechanics, and updates, the way this works has changed over time. Most single count items that don't show a quantity underneath generally split into 2 items, a copy that also has maximum durability. Don't split weapons in areas outside your castle/ home/ base. Don't split weapons when "max durability" is off. Sometimes turning Max Durability off and back on after splitting weapons helps. Sometimes splitting a weapon and moving both copies to new squares seems to reset them as a valid usable item again. Older versions have let me split items infinite times and added them to the same square or inventory slot. Newer versions don't seem to want to let the quantity go above the stack size of each item and if there is not an open inventory slot available, it will not let you do the split.
Often I also can not move a stack of items if the max stack quantity is above the maximum. First remove excess items to an empty inventory slot, then when stack quantities are max or below (usually 20, sometimes 30, 50, or 1000), then it will let you swap stacks in your inventory. Sometimes when splitting single items of stackable items, the 1 qty. Item becomes null or the quantity # below the item disappears. Like it messes with some quantity validation mechanic. Dragging the new stack of 20 items and dropping them in the square with the null/ invalid item seems to make it vanish or merge with the new stack of 20 items. I've also had "weapon broke" notifications appear in game.
Again exit map locations to the map and turn durability on and off or try moving items to a new inventory slot and max durability will be restored. Did I mention, sometimes you can't do split +20 if there is no empty inventory slot. Try deleting an inventory item you can easily replace later or remake through the recipe list.
8.) Not all the items in the crafting menu are in the game. With ldoe it seems to be the horse/ stable items that are in other games that have a horse are not in ldoe. While the game with the horse seems to have a motorcycle and motorcycle components that are not in the game.
Other items are left craftable by mods that otherwise can not be crafted. In ldoe this is the Dungarov rifle, which if found in your inventory can be grounds for a ban. The assault armor used to or maybe craftable but when crafted offers no armor inspite of supposedly offering the 2nd best armor in the game. It was later replaced by a better armor that works with Free Craft inspite of the fact that not all components are obtainable through grinding or crafting. The armor itself is obtainable in the game through locations, events, or seasons.
Much has changed over the years. These are some of the biggest bugs and fixes I have run across in ldoe and other survival/ crafting games. The creator of ldoe makes other survival games, see the horse/ motorcycle example. Even these other games by the same studio can have different mechanics and/ or bugs and fixes.
One of the best ways to stay on top of the changes to the games, mods, and fixes is to check trusted sites like this that have forums. I'm not familiar with ldoe's mod here but maybe pinning the top 10 issues with top ten fixes would be a big help. I pretty much see the same 3 or 5 issues asked about over and over again everytime there is an update to the mod.
Most of these fixes are the same from year to year with minor exceptions.
