why do threads get locked and the purpose behind it?

Just curious and wondering since experienced some locking of threads that are illogical.

This depends when there is a common problem and everyone is talking about the same problem thu some user keep asking for help and support have nothing to do.. so that may get thread lock, in fact many cases can get thread lock. But we always do our best to our users.
